DollyTrax™ FAQs
Q: How does my tripod attach to the dolly?
A: Elastic tie-down straps (bungees) are provided to secure the tripod feet. This provides the most options for a variety of tripod feet from different makes and models. You just find any protrusion on your tripod feet, lift up the strap, and hook it on. The straps can unhook quickly for moving them around to different positions on the dolly. If you do not have any protrusions from your tripod feet, then you can simply wrap the straps once around the tripod leg to help it grab on. Typically though, you'll find that when the tripod is spread in a normal manner, the slightest push on your tripod will move the dolly, and not come anywhere near tipping over.

Q: What material is the unit made of?
A:
Underneath the textured rubber coating is a premium, hand-picked wood pine base. We understand this is an unconventional material for grip equipment, but it was the only choice that had the perfect balance of weight, strength, material cost and fabrication labor. The costs of using aluminum pushed the weight and cost near the $1000 mark, in which there are already aluminum dollies available. The DollyTrax has been tested with up to 1000 lbs on it, with no problems. We have complete confidence in the durability of materials that we include a three (3) year warranty on the frame. For pricing comparison, the aluminum slider and skater style dollies are 1/10th of the size of the DollyTrax, hold 1/5 of the weight, yet start around $400-$500. That's why existing metal doorway dollies have to be priced in the $1500+ range.
Q: How long does it take for me to get my order?
A: We build each unit to order, and fulfill batches of orders once or twice a month, depending on volume. Usually it can take anywhere up to 2-3 weeks to build and ship your order after it is received. In the future as demand increases, we will begin to stock inventory
so customers can get the product quicker.
Q: Will my tripod work with the dolly?
A: Yes, any tripod will work with the DollyTrax. A two-stage tripod with spreader removed will give you the most options for placing the tripod feet on the dolly.
Q: How much does shipping cost?
A: To calculate shipping, go to the order page, add the item to your cart, and use the shipping calculator for an exact shipping cost.
